2024-05-01: "SPECIAL GAMES"
Teams want to play Exhibition games or go into weekend tournaments, and that is fine. But they actually need approval for this.
In the Official LL Rule Book, it is explained that any game that is not a Regular Season (or Playoff) House League game, or a Tournament Play game (Districts, Provincials, Canadians) is considered a "Special Game".
"Special Games" must be approved so that the team is insured. If a team plays a game outside of its schedule, and it hasn't been approved, and then something happens,
an insurance company might say "that was not a sanctioned game, we are not honouring a claim". Liability could even fall to the coach. So it is in everyone's interest
to always have a "Special Game" approved. It also helps the coach understand that as sanctioned LL games, they have to honour LL rules, including Pitch Counts.
There are two types of Special Games forms. One is for playing only Little League teams, the other is for playing Non-LL teams.
If it is being filled out for a weekend tournament, list all teams/leagues participating. If any of them are not LL, then use the Non-LL form.
Even if there are multiple games at the same tournament, there only needs to be one form filled out and approved. Please be aware that
approval is not automatic, particularly in the case of games against Non-LL teams, which is sometimes frowned upon.
There are links to the Special Games forms, below. Pick the correct one, and download it.
Fill it out as much as you can, save it with the information in it, and send to your League President.
The League President will finish it off as needed, and send it to the District Administrator.
The DA will approve it (or not) and forward it to the Regional Director who will also approve it (or not).
2024-04-24: GETTING STARTED WITH THE D2 WEB SITE:
Before you can do anything, you need (a) an account, and (b) to be on your team's contact list.
If you had an account in a previous season, it probably still exists. And it could be that one has already been created for you by the time you read this.
Here is what to do if you have forgotten it and/or your password:

2023-11-06: YOUR D.A. IS NAMED TO LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
There is a spot on International's Board of Directors for a "Canada Field Representative".
It is a 4-year term, and a person is limited to one term. Every four years, the DAs of Canada are asked to nominate someone to represent our country.
I am very pleased to say that my peers selected me as the nominee last October, and Little League International confirmed that appointment at the Board Meeting in November.
I was given 5 committee assignments, some of which I bring something to the table, and a couple that will be learning opportunities for sure: Operations, By-Laws, Rules, Investment, and Audit.
Here are links to two articles, one issued by Little League International, and one written by Martin Cleary in the local Ottawa Sports Pages.

2018-11-04: LITTLE LEAGUE UNIVERSITY is a great resource and a *free* benefit of participating in the Little League Program. If you are a Parent, Coach, Umpire, League Official or even a District Administrator, this is a place where you can get "Education & Training at your own pace". It has been designed to transform the way we learn about the program, and it gets rave reviews. Check it out at: https://www.littleleague.org/university/
2010-03-30: WHAT LEAGUE AM I IN?: We get this question from new Little League families quite a bit. To help answer this question, I have put together a map of the Little League boundaries for District 2 (Ottawa West out to Arnprior) and District 6 (Ottawa East out to Hawkesbury). It's a Google Map, so you can zoom in to your residence and discover which boundary it lies inside. You can click this link http://tinyurl.com/ottawaLL or click the "see more here..." link, and find out what your League is, and get its web site address as well. see more here...
